Hilden / Cologne in February. WENKO, the leading provider of innovative product solutions for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry and living, accepted the coveted GDA 2019 design award for the Wing design bathroom stool at the Ambiente trade fair on 8 February. The bathroom furniture won in the Bath & Wellness category and convinced the expert jury with its extraordinary and noble design and with its practical dual function as a stool and laundry collector. "We are very proud to receive the renowned prize for product design once again. With this creation by our in-house product designer, we show that we understand the combination of design and functionality and develop stylish innovations that attract attention," says Managing Director Niklas Köllner.
The purist stool with its flowing curved fronts made of white, hygienic plastic has an ergonomically curved lid that is reminiscent of a grand piano and serves as a seat. Inside the stool is a removable laundry collector with which the dirty laundry can be transported or discreetly stored temporarily. The trapezoidal shape of the collector ensures good air circulation inside, which prevents mildew stains and musty odours. The unusual and almost sculpture-like appearance of the Wing makes it a design object and a cult must-have of modern bathroom furnishings.
